Conditions Report - June 9 2010

NORTHWEST:

-- On March 15, a debris avalanche occurred at the head of Diablo Lake, rendering unusable
a local access road that connects Diablo Lake with Ross Lake. Due to continued instability and rockfall in the debris slide area, as well as ongoing construction, the road’s lower section is closed to boaters and paddlers. Hikers are currently unable to access Ross Lake via the Diablo Lake Trail -- use the Ross Dam Trail instead.

-- Finally, a sunny northwest day. Looks like Saturday was nice almost everywhere. Check out this party's ski tour of 8 Mile Mountain. " It looked steep on photo, and in reality, it was a bit steeper up close and personal, and consisted of frozen corn that refused to soften in the warm temps."
