NORTHWEST:--Coleman Deming is still in early season form. The crevasses are starting to open but the route is still in good shape. SIERRA:

--AAI guide Ian McEleney reports on Whitney conditions: The trail up to Iceberg Lake is completely snow-free. For the Mountaineers Route, no crampons/ice axe/boots are needed and a sturdy pair of hiking boots or shoes will suffice. The NW Face variation of the Mountaineers Route is almost snow free with a couple of small sno patches. It is a good decent option for any of the technical routes.
