--The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council recently created an online survey for climbers to fill out about the state of bolting in Red Rock Canyon. Currently there is a bolting ban in the wilderness area (the Canyons) while one may still put up bolted routes in the Calico Hills (the Pull-Outs). --Keep an eye out for thieves. Apparently a vehicle was attacked at the Index parking lot last week. A full rack of cams was stolen.

--A meeting took place earlier in the week in Ashford concerning winter access to Mount Rainier. There are significant concerns about flooding and river migration. Due to an acute lack of funds, the prospects of future winter access may be limited. To read more, click here.

--The weather kept most people out of the mountains this weekend, but one party managed to get up something. A small team made an ascent of Chiwawa mountain under less than ideal conditions. Other parties seemed to migrate toward single pitch rock climbing east of the mountains.
