RED ROCK CANYON:

--Forecast and average temperatures for Red Rock Canyon.

--The late exit and overnight permit number for Red Rock Canyon is 702-515-5050. If there is any chance that you will be inside the park after closing, be sure to call this number so that you don't get a ticket.

--The scenic drive loop is back to opening its gates at 6 AM instead of 7 AM.

JOSHUA TREE:

NORTHWEST:

--Forecast for the West Slope of the Cascades.

--A party headed up the Mt. Baker Highway last weekend, their objective...Welcome Pass.  Unfortunately they the trail up to the pass wasn't as welcoming as the name implies and they were instead greeted with horrendous snow conditions.  That didn't stop one of the hikers, David Baxter, from snapping some great photos and writing up a trip report.  Check out one of the photos below and read the full report here.

--The Leavenworth climbing season has begun!  Erik Budsberg and friends made the journey over the mountains last weekend and found great climbing conditions in the lower Icicle Creek Canyon.  They reported that most south facing routes were snow free but north facing climbs still had a bit of the white stuff at their base.

--John Plotz took advantage of the nice weather last weekend and made it out for a great day of skiing.  He skied an amazing line down the North Face of Mt. Cashmere and his trip report is well worth a read.  Check out the photo below for a little taste of his feat.
